Nakhia is kind of a big deal. Phrases like Black Girl Magic and Black Excellence come to mind when describing her and while undoubtedly applicable, somehow these phrases fall short in truly underscoring what she epitomizes. She has earned a few titles, like Attorney and President (hashtag insert above phrases here), that instantly imply boss energy, but
at her core she is most proud to be a humble servant of God - a believer.
Nakhia’s belief in God and commitment to her Christian faith have been her anchor in navigating life.

All along the way, from middle school to sorority, journalism to law, boardrooms to bylaws, her deep connection in God and faith have been of service to her and in her stewardship of others. During lockdown when most people were binging on all cylinders, Nakhia was questioning her purpose and mission as a Christian. Unsatisfied with the idea of passing her time with reading and reposting satirical memes on quarantine life, she reflected on how she could bring positivity and God into the social media space. So, she created @FaithTaught.Me, which is a committed page on IG to find inspiring bible verses. It is a page for anyone who may also be on a “truth journey,” like Nakhia, and need support in directing their attention to inward reflection and finding purpose.
Soon she intends to expand beyond IG, and start a podcast. The upcoming Faith Taught Me podcast will be a Christian-focused platform for black women and other women of color to be their authentic selves and share their stories, including moments of when they believe God was undeniably present in their lives. During the podcast, Nakhia and her guest entrepreneurs will discuss the significance of pivotal moments they experienced and how the presence of God was impactful in understanding themselves, their roles in life, and how to grow for the future.

Through shared testimony, Nakhia hopes to build connection and community for women and encourage listeners to be intentional in searching for their purpose and for it to be guided by faith.
